PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL IN THE CAPABILITY CREATIVE NONFORMAL EDUCATION OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Gorontalo State University Abstract Basically problems in learning mathematics in elementary school because of teacher assumption that students do not have basic knowledge. Thats why teachers are dominating learning. Teachers who often dominate learning is what causes the low ability of creative thinking in elementary school students. The low students creative thinking ability makes the students become passive and not accustomed to express their opinions. Appropriate learning is one way of overcoming this problem, namely through math-based learning problem submission. This research data through the test of the ability of mathematical creative thinking and the test of the ability of early mathematics, the data analyzed to test the research hypothesis is the data of the test of creative thinking ability mathematics grouped based on high and low initial capability. Path analisys is then followed by Tuckeys Test. The result of research are: (1) The ability of students mathematical creative thinking which is taught by model of problem based learning is higher than the students who are taught by direct learning, (2) There is an interaction between problem based learning model with students (3) students with high initial ability, students creative thinking ability mathematically studied with problem based learning model is higher than direct learning, and (4) students with low initial ability, students creative thinking ability mathematically problem-based learning model is lower than Direct Learning.
