Abstract

This research aimed to improve the effect of the implementation of PBL model learning on higher order thinking skill and self regullacy of the grade five students at SD Gugus VI Abiansemal distric, Badung-Bali. Design of research is single factor independent groups design. The population of this study is all students of the five grade students at elementary school in Gugus VI academic year 2017/2018 amounts 176 students. The sample was obtained by using random sampling technique obtained 69 students as sample. Base on the statistical test of higher order thinking skill of science obtained through essay test and data of self regullacy obtained through questionnaire to validation and reliable. Further data obtained were analyzed by using MANOVA test with 5% significance level. The result of hypothesis testing shows that: first, the higher order thinking skill of students who following the problem based learning model is better than the higher order thinking skill of students who following the conventional learning (F = 4,643; ρ<0.05); secondly, the self regullacy of students who following the problem based learning model is better than the self regullacy of students who following the conventional learning (F = 13,211; ρ<0.05); third, the higher order thinking skill and self regullacy of students who following the problem based learning model is better than the higher order thinking skill of students who following the conventional learning (F = 7,445; p < 0,05).
