STEM Teaching In Primary School Education By Project Based Learning For Supporting Science And Technology Courses

Abstract

This study investigates STEM education to support science and technology courses for primary school education in Universitas Bung Hatta Padang. This research is a kind of case study on a group of students who are having a science learning. The STEM education is not only providing information to students about project making also help them to improve their skills and abilities. A first starting point is introducing equipment for designing project and teaching fundamental principles for project making. STEM education performed with 16 students between 18 and 20 years old and they distributed in 4 groups. In the research, it will be seen that students can learn and apply their skills in designing projects while they are discussing with classmates using collaborative learning and project-based learning. Consequently, the findings and evaluations help to understand that STEM education to support students learning, moreover, affecting their science performance and relationships with friends in class positively.
